Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh lemon balm leaves (or 4 tablespoons dried)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey (optional)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced
  • 1 organic lemon, sliced
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 green tea bags (optional)
  • 5 fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash all fresh ingredients. Slice the lemon and ginger.
  2. Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil in a pot.
  3. Remove from heat, then add lemon balm, ginger, lemon slices, cinnamon stick, and green tea bags. Cover immediately.
  4. Let the infusion steep for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Strain the mixture and stir in honey while warm (if using).
  6. Let cool, then refrigerate in a glass container. Serve warm or cold.
