- 6 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (8–10 medium peaches)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Peel, pit, and slice peaches into ½-inch wedges using the boiling-water/ice-bath method.
- In a large bowl, toss peaches with sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, vanilla, and cornstarch until coated.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk until just combined.
- Pour melted butter into a 9×13-inch baking dish. Add batter over butter (do not stir). Spoon peaches evenly on top.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 45–50 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest 15–20 minutes before serving.
